It's your Deon!

I know how to protect you from Shrapnel and Agent Orange. Ask me, how!

One of my favorite characters of all time mainly for the fact he wasn’t a typical villain. In video games you normally have ultimate evil doers like bowser he rapist turtle and Ganondork the douche asshole of time. However in Suikoden theres always a reason to feel bad for the villain besides not getting laid.  Even Luca Blight with his infamous “DIE PIG DIE” scene, can be emapthized with.

I will never look at Luc as a real villain. Sure he has an attitude in the first 2 games and in the 3rd he tries to destroy the world but Luc is an anti hero at best, not a villain. For one thing he was a man-child cursed with eternal life. The whole point of which is to carry the true wind rune. He was tortured by it for years, I don’t blame him for going crazy and thinking of the world as just a giant fishbowl and generalizing the life of  whole population as pointless. Its bnot like he had a normal upbringing with a family (well besides leknaat who mothered him). However even leknaat used with as a tool of war/fate.  Years of objectifying himself really just pushed him to battle fate and ultimately win by getting his freedom.

The ending to 3 was kind of a happy ending for luc, but I’m just sad he had to realize it in death and didn’t have a chance to see the world more then just a prison. He was just a guy trying to do the right thing, but the wrong way and I think that makes him probably one of the most relatable characters because lets face it, we have all done something wrong to try and better ourselves at one point - or at least wanted too. That selfishness made him human.

This is why he is one of my favorite characters, his development throughout the series can barely be matched.

I love Luc. Luc is a G.
